八 (bā) "sekiz (sayı)" + 段 (duàn) "seviye, aşama, bölüm" + 錦 (jǐn) "işleme, işlenmiş kumaş, brokar, nakış". Sekiz kısımlı işleme. Bir çigong dalı. İsmi, vücudu nakış gibi işleyip geliştirme mecazından gelir. Bazı baduanjin egzersizleri aikidōcular tarafından uygulanmaktadır.

八 (bā) "eight (number)" + 段 (duàn) "grade, level, section" + 錦 (jǐn) "brocade, tapestry, embroidery". Eight piece of brocade. A type of qigong with eight movements. The meaning of the last kanji jin (錦) has various interpretations; the notions of weaving the body like a brocade or the structure of the tissues and lines of the muscles as an embroidery can be helpful. Some aikidōka integrate baduanjin exercises into aikidō.
