Sudōri nage de denir. Gaku Homma'nın yorumuna göre aiki nage terimi, sadece tek bir tekniği değil, aiki prensibi ile yapılan fırlatma teknikleri kategorisini de ifade eder (Aikido'nun Yapısı, s. 130). Tokimune Takeda'nın şu röportajın "Aiki Nage" başlıklı bölümündeki ifadesinden yola çıkarak, aiki nage isminin verilmesinin sebebinin, diğer tekniklerden farklı olarak bu teknikte torinin kendi vücudunda âni bir değişiklik yapması olduğu düşünülebilir.

Also called sudōri nage. According to Gaku Homma's interpretation, the term aiki nage refers not only to a single technique, but also to the category of throwing techniques performed with the aiki principle (The Structure of Aikido, 1997). Based on Tokimune Takeda's statement in the section titled "Aiki Nage" of the this interview, it can be thought that the reason why the name aiki nage was given is that, unlike other techniques, this technique depends on a sudden change in the tori's own body.
